Challenges to Address

While celebrations are important, some of the underlying issues that must be addressed are:

  • Ensuring consistent quality in teacher training, not just one-off workshops.
  • Improving economic stability and fair compensation so that teaching is a sustainable profession.
  • Enabling teacher voice in policy and school decisions, especially in PEF schools which are private-public partnerships.
  • Upgrading infrastructure, digital resources, and access to modern pedagogical tools.
  • Greasing the wheels of transparency and merit in promotions and rewards.

Conclusions & Call to Action

Teachers’ Day is more than recognition—it is a time to commit to meaningful change. The PEF-PML-N Teachers Wing event can serve as a platform not only to honour teachers but to launch a renewed push for their empowerment.

Some calls to action:

  • That PML-N Teachers Wing establish follow-up mechanisms to monitor commitments made during events.
  • That PEF allocate budget for teacher development, resources, and infrastructure in partner schools.
  • That teachers be given more say in decision-making at school, district, and provincial levels.
  • That collaboration extend beyond the event: teacher networks, ongoing dialogues, policy proposals.
